26 ROOMSTERS

Roomster August 26, Thursday 2021 about 9 am response to an ad for a room for 330 dollars a month from Emma Murray. And was directed to a link for Roomsters where Emma instructed me to make an appointment at Roomsters, which Emma provided a link to Roomsters to me. When I tried it never went further than asking for 14.99 to verify identity. I did not schedule an appointment to see her place without that and so I went back online and paid the $14.99 which did not schedule an appointment.

I then tried to contact Emma Murray on my cell phone text and shortly thereafter, my texts to her were removed from my timeline.

Then contacted Capital One Credit Card and they would not turn the $14.99 transaction around.

Hi there!

Eno says

I'm Eno, your Capital One assistant. I'm not a human, so I'm available 24/7. What's your question?

Eno says

Unfortunately, you can't cancel a transaction, but you can file a dispute once it posts.

Find the transaction you don't recognize and select Report a Problem.

Then contacted Roomsters and:

I tried your service a couple of hours ago and do not find a use for it. I would appreciate the $14.99 identification verification refunded on my Capital one credit. Thank you.

Hi There, Unfortunately, we're unable to grant a refund for ID verification payments. I'd be happy to offer you free access to Roomster's platform, complete with ID verification. Please let us know if this is acceptable and I will activate your account.

And what about the ad that was posted by Emma for a room for rent in Des Moines? Emma's phone number is 904-203-8704

Area code 904 is the telephone area code in use for most of the First Coast (northeast) region of the state of Florida, including all of the metropolitan area of Jacksonville. It includes all of Duval County, St. Johns County, Nassau County, and Baker County, and almost all of Clay County.

Are we getting an idea of why Patrick has had such a hard time convincing workers to help him here? Why didn't he check the phone number first? Would you believe after he bypassed the site because of the $14.99 charge he heard clearly telepathically, "

"Are you misen?"

And Bitchie guessed the signal was so clear that it might of been Mercury elder signaling to clear the house before a satellite beam hits it?

Might we guess it was merely Judee fooling around? Might we guess Roomsters puts up false put ads for apartments to scam simple people out of purportedly nonrefundable $14.99 looking for rooms and apartments?

And Capital one? Do workers not see how we need our rights in?

Roomster Website is Phishing Site

Scam!

Just was a victim of phising fraud on the Roomster.com website. I was sent to the authentic Roomster.com site from a Craigslist ad and as soon as I logged into it using Google credentials I was notified by Google I had a login from an iPad on the East Coast (I'm in Minnesota). I secured the account and started texting with the scammer and he tried to get me to send him Google verification codes which I didn't. I researched a bit and saw that Roomster is shady in their business, but the entire website is designed for phishing. You can't even get to the help section without logging in and the only way to log into the site is by using a 3rd party authentication service. I have the Google Voice number of the Scammer but since the entire website is designed for phishing is there someone I could notify to take action? Thanks!

ABOUT THE OWNER

Hello! Emma Murray here. I am a writer (poetry and creative nonfiction) and educator. When I’m not teaching English/communication courses at Iowa State University and DMACC, I am playing music too loudly and probably dreaming about drinking chocolate milk or eating ice cream.

And an except of another who was scammed by Roomster:

In the last part of my search I decided to save all the photos of the place that EBK sent, and google image search them. Aaaand you guessed it the photos or the bed room & kitchen all popped up through a Home Decor website. So obviously the photos of the place were fakes.

Well, that looks like a pretty good deal, doesn't it?

While readings some of the numerous complaints against Roomsters found one where the person said that the agent at Roomsters said it was only $14.99 so why not forget about it, or words to that effect. Can we only wonder how many they unsuspecting they catch every month for only $14.99?

Oh well, glad to learn that my credit is turned off so that no new charges can be put on it. Hopefully, it works. And changed my Google password also. 2.17 pm

5.56 pm

Something forgot to mention, do we notice the scam is using the bait of a inexpensive ticket room for rent, $330 a month to do a simple $14.99 fraud?

Might Roomsters have aimed their scam specifically at the small ticket crowd as the least protected and easiest to bilk and least likely to be able to do a thing about it?
